Happy 9th Birthday to my boss at Wilhite Farms! A year ago on my son’s Birthday, he asked me to baptize him at church and I was also baptized for the first time alongside him.
Although he had already accepted Christ into his heart and begun a personal relationship with God like me, he felt led to make this decision public.
My son has such a clear understanding of how much God loves him and he continues to grow in his faith, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide him.
God has revealed to me how deeply He truly loves me through the experience of becoming a father.
I love my two sons unconditionally, no matter what they do, whether they listen, misbehave or are on their best behavior.
My love for them doesn’t waver. And when I realized that our Heavenly Father’s love for us is even greater than anything I can give, my entire perspective changed.
Since then, I’ve been filled with a constant peace and joy that surpasses all understanding. It took surrender, for the Holy Spirit to help me understand God’s love.
I grew up in church, but completely missed the relationship part which he knows all about.
As a kid for me it was just about checking the boxes and a routine of going to church on Sunday. I was trying to work my way into heaven, living in guilt and shame thinking God was disappointed in me.
That was so far from the truth. It’s a great reminder of how important it is to always be the best example possible and strive to be more Christ like daily.
We can only do this through surrender and God’s help. We never know who may be watching and how the Holy Spirit can work through us.
He’s always talking about God in our conversations, praying about everything in his daily life and has such a heart for telling others about Jesus.
I’m so thankful for the family God has blessed me with and can’t wait to see what God has in store for this kids life. His faith is contagious and he is so bold about telling others about Jesus.
Always remember that we are all sons and daughters of the most high. God has used a 9 year old to be a huge inspiration to me.
Matthew 19:14 says “But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’”
Just as a seed takes root in fertile soil, my son’s faith has grown remarkably over the years. His boldness in sharing the love of Jesus is a reminder of the unfiltered joy that comes from truly knowing God. I see how his enthusiasm impacts those around him and I can’t help but think of the many lives he will impact in the years to come.
God used my grandpa at 99 years old to speak to me and now He is using my 9 year old son to continue to grow my faith and learn how to be more Christ like.
Every day I am inspired by his courage to speak about Jesus and his relationship with God, reminding me that our greatest harvests often come from the simplest acts of faith.
Remember as parents, friends, co workers or even grandparents that it is so important to cultivate a home and environment, where faith and love thrives and encourage our children and others to be bold in their witness. God isn’t just something high up in the sky. The Holy Spirit lives inside of us and will be with us every step of the way, when we ask him into our heart.
Life won’t get easier, but there is no better way. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. When that’s real in your life, things change for the better.
Have child like faith and love others as Christ loves us.
May we always grow to be a light in this dark world, impacting lives for God’s glory!
