Lia Elizabeth: “Standing Firm In Your Faith”

This week, I had one of those moments that really made me stop and think about what it means to live out my faith in today’s world. Someone tried to make me feel embarrassed for going to church, mocking it in a way. Something that, to me, is one of the most important parts of my life. I walked away from that conversation with a lot on my heart, thinking of all the ways I could have or should have responded.

We live in a time where it can feel uncomfortable to stand firm in our Christian values. Not everyone sees faith the same way, and sometimes people don’t understand the peace and purpose it brings. It can be hard when others mock, question, or belittle what we hold dear. But maybe these moments are quiet reminders from God to lean even closer to Him.

Jesus told us in John 15:18, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” That verse has been sitting with me this week. It’s not always easy to live boldly for Christ, but we aren’t called to blend in, but we’re called to shine His light.

I’ve realized that when people challenge our faith, it’s often because they don’t yet know the love we’ve experienced. Instead of getting angry or embarrassed, I want to respond with grace. To show kindness when it’s undeserved. To keep walking into church on Sunday morning and maybe inviting that person each Sunday to come experience my Jesus.

In a world that’s loud and divided, maybe one of the best ways we can share Jesus is by staying gentle, steady, and unashamed. So if someone ever makes you feel small for your faith, remember this: they can question your choices, but they can’t take away your peace. And sometimes, your quiet strength might just be the thing that leads them to wonder what makes your faith so real.
