The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Have you ever had a season where everything looked like it was failing, but God showed up in a way you didn’t expect?
A month ago I shared that the corn in this area was taken over by disease. Southern rust and tar spot was terrible this year.
The rain also shut off in July. Realistically the yields shouldn’t be very good. Thankfully my identity is in Christ and not my yields or anything else of this world.
I knew from past experience though, that God can still raise a good crop no matter the circumstances if He wants too.
That’s not always the case.
Just because you’ve surrendered everything and are following God, doesn’t mean you’ll always have a bumper crop or your finances will be secure.
He always has a greater purpose behind every detail and sometimes that looks different than what we’d hoped for.
I got my first field opened up that had a low population trial at 28,000, with no fungicide.
The first few acres that were harvested, averaged 255 bushels per acre. Becks finished up their plot this weekend and the yields were very good.
This is another reminder to always stay positive and live by faith and not sight.
Walking with God doesn’t eliminate the hard times, but He’s there every step of the way.
I would never want to go back to doing life on my own. God is always working quietly and faithfully behind the scenes.
Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” Keep your eyes on Him and not your circumstances. He always has the final say and wants us to trust Him.
The fields may have looked to be failing, but our God never does. No matter what this seasons outcome is, God is still good. Surrender everything and trust Him in the unseen, He’s always at work!
