Laura Wilhite, The Quill
Meet your neighbor Joan Mohr. Joan grew up in La Harpe. Joan shared that one of her favorite/most embarrassing memories from growing up in La Harpe was when she accidentally cruised the strip without her lights on.
She stated that everyone kept honking, waving and flashing their headlights at her. She thought that they were celebrating the fact that she had just gotten her license. Joan graduated from La Harpe High School.
She married her husband James shortly after graduation. Joan and James have three adult children. Their son Justin is a farmer, their daughter Morgan is the director of community relations and the foundation at Quincy Medical group and their daughter Tiffany is a stay at home mom and she also helps her husband with his MK Electric business.
When asked if she had advice for parents with young children she stated, “Take one day at a time! Every child is different! Enjoy the journey & the little things!! Ask for help if you need it or a break!!!”.
Joan’s grandchildren keep her very busy. They love to travel, play pickleball and go shopping together.
Joan and James attend Terre Haute Community Church. She is part of the planning committee at their church.
Joan is also part of the AAPC-CPC- as a Certified Professional Coder and she is a member of the Late Bloomers Garden Club.
