On Sunday, November 2, the Stronghurst community will come together to support local business owner Travis Pence, who recently suffered a devastating loss when his auto body shop was destroyed by fire.
Fundraising events include a Benefit Ride,Taco Bar Fundraiser and a silent auction.
Benefit Ride will be from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will start and end at Laila’s Bar & Grill, Stronghurst. The cost per vehicle is $20. The ride is open to everyone who wants to cruise in support.
Whether you bring a classic car, a bike, or your everyday ride, your $20 entry fee goes directly to help Travis recover from the fire that claimed his livelihood. For questions or to sign up, contact Jeff Nichols at 309-221-3013.
Also on Sunday, Laila’s Bar & Grill will host a Taco Bar Fundraiser from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the cost is $15 per person and the menu includes beef or chicken tacos, cilantro lime rice, Fiesta black beans, street corn, chips and queso, and all the fixings. Laila’s will donate 33% of all taco bar proceeds directly to Travis and his family.
A silent auction will run throughout the day featuring a variety of donated items and themed baskets. You do NOT need to be present to win.
