Ryan Wilhite: “Led by the Spirit, not by Comfort”

Are you letting God grow you or are you staying in the same comfortable places you’ve always known? I was 25 years old when God finally got me out of my comfort zone with His perfect timing. In 2017 He helped me learned how to plant a crop on 8 acres and run equipment. I had no clue where to even begin at the time, but that’s where God shines the brightest and uses everything for the good.

The most important part was letting Him lead the way and taking that leap of faith to start an operation, for a platform to spread the gospel and help others. Having a dark past filled with addiction and many other issues, dropping out of college or being able to hold down a part time job. Life was pretty hopeless looking at the future until God stepped in.

I finished my 9th harvest on Saturday and it’s one that I’ll never forget. Watching your 9 year old son run the combine, tractor and climb out of the semi is a powerful reminder of how God invites us to step into responsibilities that grow and refine us. He also started our day with a prayer out loud and we had many conversations about God and life in those cabs, which is most important. God calls us to get out of our comfort zones so we learn to fully rely on Him.

Joshua 1:9 says “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” When the Holy Spirit nudges you to do something, there’s no reason to fear. He promises to be there and no weapon formed against us shall prosper.

The devil will attack, but you’ll never be defeated with God’s help.

Just like I trust my son with bigger tasks as he learns and matures, our Heavenly Father entrusts us with moments that stretch our faith and shape our character.

When we walk in obedience, no matter our age, God guides our hands, strengthens our steps and uses each season to teach us more about His love and goodness.

Surrender everything and let the Holy Spirit help get you out of your comfort zone for a greater purpose. Always have childlike faith and a willingness to learn, serve and follow wherever He leads. The Holy Spirit is our guide, strength and source of courage when we step out of our comfort zones. As we surrender our fears and trust Him, He empowers us to live boldly for God’s glory.

When we allow Him to lead our actions, words, thoughts and choices, it can have a lasting impact.

Planting seeds of faith, hope and love that further His kingdom no matter where we’re at. God doesn’t just call us to play it safe, He calls us to trust, obey and let Him work through us to make a difference that lasts for eternity!
