Henderson County Board Approves Key Financial and Service Measures

The Henderson County Board convened its regular meeting at 8:30 AM on October 14, chaired by Brad Flatt. Seven of 11 members were present at roll call, with Jon Corzatt arriving at 8:33 AM. Absentees included Todd Miller, Deborah Pflasterer, and Will Pruett.

The board swiftly approved prior meeting minutes from September 9 and 26, 2025, along with claims paid in September. Health Department claims, monthly reports, and minutes were accepted unanimously by those present.

Travel expenses exceeding limits for county employees Terry Painter and Sandra Keane were approved. No highway resolutions were presented.

Zoning updates included confirmation from Cindy Brown that a building permit was issued for a solar farm on parcel 03-27-200-001.

The County Treasurer’s reports for August and September 2025 were approved. An appointment of Cara Harksen to the Henderson County Public Library District Board to fill Jennifer Painter’s vacancy was tabled pending further information.

The Illinois Department of Corrections Annual Compliance Review Report for the Henderson County Jail was accepted.

A 5% tax levy increase for the County Ambulance Service for tax year 2025 (payable 2026) passed as recommended by the Finance Committee. Glenda Ehlen reported four local volunteers ready to assist if equipped with a vehicle and kit, and noted an upcoming first responder class in Aledo. She requested a review of the ambulance resolution.

An Intergovernmental Agreement with Warren County to provide public transportation in Henderson County was approved after review by both counties’ state’s attorneys.

State’s Attorney Kristen Petrie recommended designating a board member as point of contact. Morgan Lewis from Warren County addressed questions.

The meeting adjourned at 9:24 AM. All motions passed with absent members marked accordingly.
