Last week in front of the Veterans Memorial in the La Harpe City Park, the La Harpe Car Show Committee handed a $2000 check to representatives of the Great River Honor Flight of Quincy.
The funds were raised the first Saturday in August at the annual La Harpe Classic Car Show which was organized by committee members: Jerry Burford, Jeanette Ford, Dale Russell and Jerilyn Bennett.
It cost around $500-$600 to send a veteran on the flight, Burford said. He said the committee appreciates all who supported the car show with their help, attendance, and donations toward the honor flight.
