At the Village of Biggsville board meeting on May 7th, Judy Gravgaard swore in Eric Craig at mayor. Mayor Eric Craig then swore in Kathie Curtiss, Chris Webb, and Casey Goff as trustee for 4 years. James McCabe was sworn in as trustee for a 2 year term.
Everyone agreed Steve Earp had did a wonderful job renovating the community building. There have also been comments from those who rented it, how nice it looked.
It was reported there was a water leak on West Street on the homeowner’s side and next week they will fix the leak and put two new valves in.
All four pumps have been pulled and a new one ordered, as the pump on Arthur Street has gone bad.
A motion carried to resurface three streets in town and gravel work on Worthy Acres with the $43,122.77 of the motor fuel money.
There has been one permit received to put up a garage.
The mayor suggested a summer festival, so they will continue to make plans.
The basketball hoop at Reid Park needs to be installed and both backboards replaced. Casey will research what material is needed.
There are several games scheduled for Lindo Field and a couple of teams practicing at the field.
The lawyer will send a letter regarding a fine and possible lien on a homeowner’s property for noncompliance of ordinance #300-A-5.
April Hill made a suggestion to hold an open house at the community building. A decision will be made later when to have it, as well as get a list of supplies needed.
Jamey is working on a grant from Ameren to replace the lights in the community building.
The mayor reported Mike West is retiring and Zach will be expanding his duties, with Jaegar Craig helping him.
