The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Hancock County CEO Class is all about creating entrepreneurial opportunities.
It was established in the fall of 2015, with the support of local business community partners and area schools to create experiential learning opportunities for students.
More than just a business course, CEO allows students to learn from local business leaders and develop workforce skills of problem solving, team work, self-motivation, responsibility, communication and professionalism which are the heart of a student's development throughout the experience.
The class currently has 20 members from Illini West, Warsaw and Southeastern High Schools.
Their most recent visit this past Monday morning, helped students with their “spring fever” as their host was well-known horticulturist Kim Peters at Peters Greenhouse in Lomax.
Students could see and feel that "Spring is in the air!"
The CEO Class had a great visit learning about not only flowers, plants, trees & shrubs, but also about a family owned business that’s been in existence for more than 20 years.
Kim Peters has always shared about her and her husband's business, going to schools, clubs, and organizations as well as hosting many tours throughout her beautiful and well maintained greenhouses.
Every year while her flowers are growing, her business is growing bigger and bigger too, as they expand each year.
Kim is now getting ready for her upcoming Spring Open House in April and patrons can’t wait to see what she has added. What a thrill for gardeners young and old.
Her advertisement will appear in an upcoming edition of The Quill. Watch for it.
