The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department is excited to introduce their newest K9 Deputy, BOLO. Deputy Spears and BOLO successfully completed the basic handlers course at K9 Working Dogs International in Ashland, OH.
“There are many benefits to a K-9 Deputy including enhanced crime detection and search and rescue capabilities with their superior senses. They also improve officer safety through suspect apprehension and protection,” said Sheriff Matthew Link.
The Sheriff’s office was able to make this addition to the force thanks to grants awarded to the K9 program by AKC Reunite, K9 United, and Spirit of the Blue Foundation.
“BOLO is a full-service K9 trained in tracking, article searches, officer protection, suspect apprehension, and is imprinted on multiple illegal drugs for detection. Deputy Spears and BOLO are on patrol assisting each other and other Deputies and Officers in Henderson County,” stated Link.
