The West Central 7th Grade Boys Basketball team traveled to Mt. Sterling to play Carthage in the Sectional finals on Monday, February 3rd. The Blueboys pulled out the win, 49-36.
Carthage jumped out to a big lead in the first half, 31-16.
The Heat would close the gap to 8 following a three-point play by Tyler Ricketts to end the 3rd quarter.
Unfortunately, that would be as close as West Central would get.
Carthage hit a quick 3 to open the 4th quarter and kept the Heat at arm's length for the remainder of the game.
West Central ends the season 22-2 with both losses coming at the hands of the Blueboys.
Carthage, (22-2) will travel down to Macon on Saturday, February 8th and will take on Decatur Robertson (17-1) at 11:30 a.m. in the First Round of the 7th Grade 2A State Tournament.
