Gladstone Board Discusses Tree Problems

By Joyce Kuntz-Hetrick, Reporter

It was discussed and voted upon to remove a tree at the playground at the regular meeting of the Gladstone Village Board.

The Village of Gladstone board met on Monday, July 11 at 7PM at the Community Building in Gladstone.

Members heard that the Village had trimmed trees and shrubs that were blocking visibility on Walnut Street.

There was also a brief discussion held regarding the possibility of tree branches overhanging at the park during homecoming interfering with watching entertainment at the band shell.

In old business, the clerk reported that the affected plugged storm drains will be worked on in a couple weeks.

New business consisted of adopting a Return to Work Policy Ordinance that Village insurance companies are requiring. This is a standard mandatory policy that will not affect Gladstone due to not having employees that it would involve.

Unanimously approved were the previous month’s minutes, treasurer’s report, and the monthly bills.

Those present were Clerk Debbie Palmer, board members Debbie Blake, Valerie Goff, Darlene Manes, Brett Dewitt, and Jeremiah Bielser acting as Mayor Pro Tem in Mayor Randy Goble’s absent.  Board member Mike Blake was absent.

Media rep present was Joyce Kuntz-Hetrick.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:30PM.
