Kyle Tanner talks about his business Tanner’s Tree Service.
When did you decide to start your own business?
In September of 2023, Tanner’s Tree Service was officially formed as an LLC.
I worked for numerous tree companies before, doing power line clearance, and two residential businesses, removing and trimming trees near Springfield, IL.
I’ve worked in the tree industry for nearly 10 years. I currently work for Western Illinois Electrical Cooperative as a Journeyman Lineman whom I’ve been with since 2019.
What services do you provide?
We provide tree removal, tree trimming, stump grinding, and storm damage cleanup.
How much of the tristate area do you cover?
Our general range is from north to south, Burlington to Quincy, and east to west, Macomb to Hamilton.
What is your favorite part of owning your own business?
My favorite part is that I get to lead but also work right alongside my crew.
Getting to work in new areas is a plus too.

Stop thinking of reasons why it won’t work out while also being prepared to put in the hours.
