Seats New Board at Organizational Meeting

A new board was seated Thursday April 24th at a Special/Organizational Meeting of the Board of Education called by La Harpe Community School District #347 2024-25 School Board.

After a 6:00 p.m. meeting was called, the board verified the final tabulation of the Votes of the April 1st Election as follow (4 positions)

The Question for the La Harpe Elementary School District 347 to issue a $3,900,000 School Building Bonds as follows:

Funds will be used to “build and equip an addition to the La Harpe Elementary/Junior High School building and alter, equip and repair existing facilities and improve the sites thereof”

Board member Jake Allen who had finished his term as Vice President of the board, stepped down and was given a Certificate of Appreciation by Supt. Janet Gladu. Board member Bill Collins was not re-elected and was not present.

The meeting with the old board adjourned at 6:02 p.m. and the new board of Dustin Detherage, Dana Blythe, Josh Walker, Josh Gebhardt, Leandra Deitrich, Chad Burt, and Joni Dowell was called to order by President Detherage.

The calendar of meetings was approved for the 2025-26 school year followed by the adjournment at 6:15 p..m.

Present at the reorganizational meeting was Supt. Janet Gladu, Dustin Detherage, Dana Blythe, Josh Walker, Josh Gebhardt, Leandra Dietrich, Chad Burt, Joni Dowell, and visitors Melissa Burt and Dessa Rodeffer of The Quill newspaper.
