West Central 2025 National Honor Society Induction

On March 5, West Central High School held their annual National Honor Society (NHS) induction and installation ceremony in the high school gym.

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

This opening line from the NHS induction and installation ceremony describes the meaning of being a National Honor Society student well.

To be inducted into the WCHS chapter, students must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA and showcase characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and character both in school and in the community at large.

The also recognized their outgoing officers, installed new officers, and the senior members received their NHS graduation stoles.

To conclude the ceremony, our NHS chapter welcomed and recognized Mrs. Ensminger, an ELA teacher at West Central Middle School, as our guest speaker this year.

Everyone appreciated her jokes, insight, and advice for all of those in attendance.

This year, our chapter has volunteered at our local nursing home, picked up trash along our Adopted High Way, and volunteered at various other community events throughout the year.

The community looks forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future.
