West Central Heat traveled to Galva on Friday, August 30 in week one of high school football.
The Heat came out on top with a 52-8 win over the Wildcats. Senior Alex McGraw scored 3 TDs, Junior Cody Wade 2TDs, and Freshman Graham Kelly & Sophomore Aidan Garner each found the endzone for 1 TD each. #81, Cody Wade led the team in tackles.
Week two had the Heat facing the Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans on September 7th @ BPC. West Central brought home the win with a final score of 38-26. Alex McGraw led the team in scoring with a 78-yard kickoff return, a 75-yard kickoff return, and a 37-yard TD run. Senior Peyton Woodbury scored a TD on a 36-yard pass from Senior quarterback, Gage Stimpson. Senior, Kyle Lafary helped seal the win with two successful two-point conversions.
On Friday, September 13 the Heat took on the Peoria Heights Patriots. The final score was 62-38. Graham Kelly scored 5 TDs with 20 carries for 137 yards. Sophomore Cooper Gibb & Senior Alex McGraw each scored 1 TD, while Aidan Garner scored on a 65-yard kickoff return. Gage Stimpson & Cody Wade led the team on defense.
The heat travels back to Galva this Friday, September 20 with a 6:00pm kickoff.
