La Harpe Mayor Hasten-Reed reported, at the Monday, August 26th regular La Harpe City Council meeting, that LRS (garbage/recycling) would be returning to La Harpe on Tuesday (Aug. 27) to pick up the trash that was missed on the previous Friday. She reported that La Harpe City-wide cleanup will be Friday, October 11, 2024.
The mayor also said that Randy Shumaker had let her know that the body cameras ordered had come in for the La Harpe Police Department.
Tim Graves reported that Kyle Tanner of La Harpe would like to be able to bid on any tree work for the city and also Ethan Becker would like to bid on any stump grinding in the future. Graves also informed the Council that he had priced a sewer camera with a monitor and recorder and 400 foot cable and it was estimated it would cost about $13,000. The Council took no action at this time.
The Council unanimously approved:
Treasurer’s report and paying of all bills presented.
In Council discussion, members decided to have the city employees check on a sink hole located in the lane just north of the City Park. Members also discussed an Otter issue at La Harpe Reservoir and will look into some options to remove them.
Councilman Clover said the City was informed they could remove the La Harpe Davier Hospital sign at anytime as long as it was publicly displayed and taken care of.
The Council meeting opened at 7:00 p.m. and was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
