The 6th annual car, truck, and motorcycle show was held September 21st in Stronghurst.
This year’s show saw the largest number of entries displayed with 75 registered participants and 6 vehicles for display only.
Those attending were eligible for 29 various plaques, as well as 9 cash awards.
It was a mixed day of sunshine early and light rain and drizzle later. The rain caused voting results to be announced early and forced the cancellation of the vehicle “parade” to the nursing home and assisted living.
Many local residents enjoyed the classics autos and cycles displayed along two blocks of Broadway Street.
Participants selected the top twenty award winners and the nine specialty award winners. Those receiving speciality awards were as follows:
Top Car: 1962 Buick LeSaber, owner Andy Kuenzl of Fairview
Top Truck: 1947 Chevy 3100, owner Dave Russell from Blue Grass, IA
Top Motorcycle: 2006 Harley, owner Robert Shaffer Davidson of Illinois City
Kids Pick: 1947 Ford Pick-up, owner Barbara Silveus from Carman
Spectator Pick: 1968 Plymouth Road Runner, owner Ken Bundy of Gladstone
Booster Club Pick: 1957 Chevy Belair, owner Carmen Rose from Macomb
Mayors Choice: 1985 Chevy ElCamino, owner Don Adcock from Abingdon
Veterans Pick: 1974 Chevy Monte Carlo, owner Mike Nelson of Stronghurst
Chris Fenton Memorial Pick: 1985 Chevy Truck, Shawn and Stacie Anderson of Kirkwood
