Village of Biggsville Reports on September 4th Board Meeting

The Village of Biggsville held their September board meeting on Wednesday September 4th at 6:00 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Eric Craig with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The August minutes were read and approved as well as the treasurer’s report and invoices approved.

Street/Water Report

The oil was changed in the mower and new blades were put on. MVP replaced a pump at the lift station. They will give us a quote on a new pump and on repairing the old pump.

Jim Thompson will give a bid on repairing the sidewalk in front of the post office.

Another engineering firm has been contacted to give us a quote on some work that needs to be done. It was also reported that two water main valves need to be installed.

Zoning

One permit was issued last month.

Parks

Next year we will purchase new dirt for the ball field. We are looking into grants to purchase new bleachers and playground equipment.

Old Business

Applications for anyone wanting to run for village offices need to be turned into in office by November 18th, 2024. Contact the Biggsville village office at 309-627-2210 for an application.

Members present were: Stephanie Craig, Kathie Curtiss, James McCabe, Tammy Slater and Chris Webb. Casey Goff was absent.

Others present were: Eric Craig, Mayor; Judy Gravgaard, Village Clerk; Marilyn Simmons, Treasurer; Mike West and Zach Spiker, Maintenance. The meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
