Larry and Pat Louden took "The Quill" along to the Allerton Garden on the Hawaiian island of Kauai with their Westin Resort tour group. The couples were from Arkansas, California, Colorado, Kansas, Texas, North Carolina, and Illinois led by hostess Nalani.
The Allertons, from Chillicothe, bought the 63 acre garden site in 1937 for $50,000 to develop the gardens. The site was used to film parts of Steven Spielberg’s massive blockbuster Jurassic Park.
