The La Harpe City Council met on November 17th at 7:00 p.m. at the La Harpe City Hall.
In the absence of Mayor Kat Hasten-Reed, Randy Shumaker was unanimously approved as Mayor Pro-tem.
Shumaker noted that City Attorney Chris Scholz was still working on a time and date to meet with the approved mediator for the IMEG issue.
City Clerk Lucretia McPeak told the council she would be accepting petitions for council positions from 3:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. from 11/12 through 11/18 except for Thursday and Friday at the City Hall.
The council unanimously approved the October minutes and also accepted the Treasurer’s report and payment of bills.
The council discussed moving the hospital sign to the city park and was still waiting on information on the cost to have it moved.
The council discussed the Ordinance on parking semi’s and trailers and it was decided to have the city police talk to those parking around the city park and find a different place for them to park.
They also discussed the ADA Compliance rules for council meetings and decided they could either meet in the clubhouse or in the Union Church Fellowship Hall if in need of a different location.
The council also unanimously approved purchase of a pallet of Perma Patch for $1000.00.
The council unanimously approved a proclamation noting December 7th as Hancock County CEO Day.
It was discussed that November 21st was the auction for the Senior Citizen’s House.
Council adjourned at 7:31 p.m.
