The Village of Biggsville held their board meeting on April 2nd and it was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Village Clerk Judy Gravgaard. She led with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members present were Stephanie Craig, Kathie Curtiss, Casey Goff, James McCabe, Tammy Slater and Chris Webb. Others present were Judy Gravgaard Village Clerk; Marilyn Simmons Treasurer; Mike West Maintenance and Zach Spiker Maintenance.
The March minutes, invoices and the treasurer’s report were all read and approved.
Mike and Zach exercised 40 valves. There were 23 valves working and 17 not working. The board is planning on putting in new valves this summer.
Mike has talked to a construction company to bring the Village water to Gibb’s Station. They gave an estimate of $7,800.00.
The Board is going to check at the county courthouse to see if Biggsville has an easement on the property.
A motion was made to install water to Gibbs pending a quote and easement with provisions to continue to the east, if necessary. Motion 2nd and carried. Mike will contact the construction company to get us a quote. He will also get a quote to see if they can install the new valves.
Jamie is going to check with Ameren and see if we can get some help with new lighting at the ballpark. The Board is still working on a grant to improve the ballpark.
Motion was made, and 2nd and carried to proceed with moving our offices to the Bank building if it would be cost effective.
Trash Day will be June 1st. There will be more information to follow.
