Heat Softball Team Takes Regional with a 10-0 Shut-Out

The West Central Heat had already proven themselves in regular season and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher Addie Seitz stepped up to hand Fulton Steamers a 10-0 shutout Friday to capture the Regional Championship. West Central might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 22 matchups by six runs or more this season. The result came thanks to Seitz's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, West Central let Becca Hinshaw and Shelby Bowman loose on the outfield. Hinshaw scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Bowman scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Bowman has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Meyer, who went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.

West Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 games, which provided a nice bump to their 30-3-1 record this season. On Tuesday, evening, West Central faced Newman Central Catholic, looking to tack on another "W" to their 12-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
