At the Village of Stronghurst board meeting, Tuesday, May 7th, a discussion was held on the opening of the spray park for the summer. Johnson Plumbing has not yet de-winterized the spray park. Once that is complete Ronnie Gittings will set up the timers, etc, with May 25th the target date for the opening. Hours will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
In the absence of Mayor Brendan Schaley, Mike Swisher served as Mayor Pro Tem opening the meeting at 6 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Police Report by Police Chief Arbry Vancil included: 40 hours worked; 110 miles on squad car; 9 service calls; 1 assist; 11 courtesy checks.
On a list of yards that was in need of mowing, Vancil reported all had been done with the exception of 218 Logan Street and he had spoken to the resident and it would be done.
Curt Carlson had been sent a letter regarding his property. Vancil also reported the police committee will be going around the village to observe for old vehicles, trash, etc.
Due to an error found in the figures for oiling and chipping streets, the board voted to rescind the first agreement and accept the second agreement for the project.
