Stronghurst Board Informed Of Patriotic Service

At the June 3rd meeting of the Village of Stronghurst Board Janet Bohnenkamp informed the board of the upcoming patriotic service to be held in the Stronghurst Village Park on Sunday, June 30th. The free service is sponsored by the area churches, will honor the sheriff’s department, police, fire department, and ambulance workers.

Following the program homemade ice cream and cookies will be served. The public is invited.

Ronnie Gittings reported hydrants will be flushed and valves worked on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. He reported the village’s water usage was in the mid-60s when the spray park was not on and in the mid-70s when it is running.

The police report was read by Mike Bohnenkamp and included: 36.5 hours worked; 104 squad car miles; 4 service calls; 20 business courtesy checks

Financial report: 21,998.37 good.

The zoning committee had approved two applications.

The board instructed Ronnie Gittings to look into replacing the sidewalk at Fisher’s Food corner.  

The board approved the annual account for 2023/2024 as presented.

The board congratulated and gave a round of applause to Ronnie Gittings for having been with the village for 15 years. Ronnie said he enjoys his job and everyone he works with.

The meeting adjourned at 5:20 with the next meeting scheduled for Monday, July 1st at 6 p.m.
