The Hancock County Board will hold a special meeting related to extension of the EMS contract on Friday, Dec. 27, at 8:15 a.m. in the county board room of the Hancock County Courthouse.
The county EMS has been in negotiations with Memorial Hospital at previous meetings of the county Health Committee.
The board approved a Public Transportation Agreement between Hancock County Public Transportation and the Mental Health Centers of Western Illinois. The county transportation system will provide service to clients receiving services at the Carthage Mental Health Center on Monday to Friday, available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the calendar year of 2025.
An engineering agreement with Klingner and Associates for $80,195 was approved for Phases 1 and 2 of a new bridge in Wythe Township.
Revenue from the Sheriff’s Retention Grant of $50,000 was moved to the General fund. The board then approved paying a stipend to nine or ten sheriff deputies for retention, in the amount of of $50,000 in the FY2025 budget.
The State’s Attorney was allowed to retain a labor attorney to negotiate the contract with county union employees.
The Link Media lease for a billboard in Niota in the flood plain was renewed. The county receives $500 per year for this billboard.
As the county prepares for the bicentennial celebration in January, certain items from the court house were declared as surplus property.
A credit card for the new supervisor of assessments, Michael McVey, was approved with a limit of $5,000.
Michelle Merritt, Lee Ann Lambert and Steve Lucie were appointed as representatives to the Western Illinois Regional Council. Michelle Merritt was appointed to the Western Illinois Workforce Innovation Board.
