The Carthage Bluegirls traveled to Havana on 12/19/24 where they squared off against Illini Bluffs in the 8th grade class 2A State Championship.
The Bluegirls were battle tested this past season and faced some adversity as they had season-ending injuries to some key players.
The atmosphere in Havana was electric. Carthage students, parents and fans traveled well to support their Bluegirls. The Carthage stands were a sea of blue and the pride for this year’s team was undeniable.
When the final buzzer sounded, the Bluegirls were victorious by a score of 43-30 and crowned state champs in Class 2A 8th grade teams..
