The girls from West Central traveled to Colchester on Tuesday, December 3rd to take on the West Prairie Cyclones. The JV team finally got to take the court playing two 10 minute halves with a running clock. In the shortened game, Lilly Higgins scored 6 points, Brooklyn Eisnnicher added 3 points, and Lia Klossing and Hailey Manes contributed 2 points each. The final score was 13-3 in favor of the Heat.
The varsity team picked up another win over the Cyclones. Harlee Hainds earned another double-double scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. She also had 5 assists and 5 steals. Addie Seitz scored 15 points including two 3 point baskets and grabbed 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals. Lia Klossing threw in 6 points and grabbed 2 rebounds and 3 steals. Lauren Winters added 6 points. Lilly Higgins scored 6 points and had 5 rebounds. Addy Burrell made a 3 point shot and picked up 2 rebounds. Lainey Klossing made 2 shots from the free throw line and had 5 rebounds and 4 steals. At the end of the game, the score was 57-54.
The West Central varsity girls hosted the Galva Wildcats in their home opener on Wednesday night in Biggsville and walked away with a win 64-43. Harlee Hainds was again the lead scorer with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Lilly Higgins scored 17 points and had 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Miley Stimpson added 7 points and 3 rebounds. Grace Seitz chipped in 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Addie Seitz and Lainey Klossing contributed 5 points each. Addie also had 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Lainey had 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Brooklyn Eisnnicher threw in an additional 3 points. The varsity record is now 3-3. They will travel to Annawan for a varsity-only conference match up on Monday and then to Mendon Unity on Thursday for both JV and Varsity contests.
