La Harpe City Council July 22nd Meeting

Monday, July 22nd, the regular board meeting of the La Harpe City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by La Harpe Mayor Katherine Hasten-Reed.

Mayor Hasten-Reed reported that the City Attorney has contacted a Mediator. She reported receiving a call from WGEM wanting to know why the previous Police Chief had resigned, and if that position was filled.

It was reported there were kids playing football in the street and trespassing on private property.

Officer Scott Rosson reported he will be getting more ammunition from Farm King.

Treasurer Monalisa Graves reported the new city's water program has been installed.

It was also heard in committee reports that the Explorer laptop was mounted, however it needs a new base to fit.

Old Business

Dave Clover made the motion to approve the paying of bills and the Treasurer's report which was approved.

Kurt Dittmer addressed the council with the Johnson Trust Farm and Hunting leases. Clover made a motion to approve the leases as presented by Dittmer. Lenix seconded and all approved the motion.

Clover made the motion to approve updating the water billing program with Shumaker seconded and all approved the motion.

In other business was discussion only:

NEW BUSINESS

Deer issue in La Harpe was discussed.

Shumaker made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Clover and all approved at 7:34 p.m.

Answering roll call were: Dave Clover, Marvin Miller, Randy Shumaker, Todd Stevens, Jim Lenix, Treasurer Monalisa Graves, City Clerk Lucretia McPeak, and Mayor Katherine Hasten-Reed.

Amanda Donaldson was absent.

Also present were Dan Gillett, Kurt Dittmer, and Scott Rosson.
