A summer benefit concert for The Legacy Theater in Carthage, Illinois is planned on July 13.
Chenille Sheeran of Nashville, Tenn., and formerly of Carthage, is the featured performer.
Sheeran operated Center Stage Music in Carthage for many years, before advancing her own musical career in Nashville.
The award-winning singer and recording star was involved in the early years of The Legacy Theater and has agreed to return to Carthage for this concert to support the theater.
Several songs in the concert will include a back-up adult choir, made up of local singers. The choir will be directed by Beth Shurtleff of Nauvoo.
Video auditions to join this choir are now open. Audition applications are due no later than April 30. Approximately 30 singers will be selected and notified by May 15. Rehearsals will be held on June 20, June 27, and July 11 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The concert will also include a children’s choir of around 20 voices and local dancers. More information on how children may participate in the concert will be available soon.
