Stronghurst Booster Club Discuss Events

At the October 9th, meeting of the Stronghurst Booster Club, members discussed details for the Christmas Open House planned for Friday November 17th. A Christmas committee meeting will be held on Thursday November 2nd at 4:30 p.m. in the Legion. All are welcome to attend. Booster Club will meet to decorate for the open house on Veterans Day, Friday, November 10th, reminders/details to follow

Christmas Parade

Paige Torrance was present to discuss ideas the village had regarding holding a Christmas Parade the same night as the Christmas Open House. Discussion took place and the Booster Club would recommend a Christmas Parade and tree lighting be held on Friday December 1st. The parade could end at the park and the Booster club would sponsor the tree lighting and provide hot cocoa and cookies.

• BINGO will be Friday December 8th at the Legion. Doors open at 5:30, game 6-8pm.
• Donated $100 from the General Fund to the West Central Elementary PTC Fall Festival held October 13th.
• Community Potluck: Briefly discussed hosting another Potluck in January 2024.
• 2024 Fall Festival was set for Saturday September 21,2024
• September minutes were approved and Treasurer’s report which was viewed by Shelly. Fall Festival 36 month CD and 20 month CD were combined into one 9 month CD at 4.05% interest. Fall Festival bills have been paid to Fishers, for Mums, Wagon rides, and for the straw. Waiting on a bill from Durrands. Deposit made from concessions, car show and tractor show.

Shelly will provide a detailed report of profit from the Fall Festival at the next meeting. There is still several mums left to sell-Tricolor, yellow, bronze, white - reduced price of $20 and a post on facebook. Meeting adjourned @ 5:38 pm
