Stronghurst Booster Club Discusses Christmas Events

At the November 13th meeting of the Stronghurst Booster Club, members discussed details for the Christmas parade and tree lighting. The event is set for Friday, December 1st at 6 p.m.

The village has the parade route set and Santa will be at the park after the parade. The tree lighting will take place after the parade. The booster club will be handing out cookies and hot cocoa at the park. Volunteers are needed, so if you interested please reach out to Jim Blender.

The wreath decorating event is on Sunday December 3rd from 2-4 p.m. at the Stronghurst American Legion. Twenty wreaths have been ordered. Spots are limited to 20 people, so sign up at Bygones and Buds. You must prepay by cash or check in advance to reserve a spot. First come, first serve for sign up. Light refreshments will be served.

Christmas Bingo will be on Friday, December 8th from 6-8 p.m. at the Stronghurst American Legion. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Hot cocoa and popcorn will be served.

In other business:

• October were approved and the treasurer’s report was reviewed by Shelly and approved. It was noted that they are still waiting for a bill from Durrands for the restrooms for the Fall festival. Payment was approved to Johnson Plumbing for winterizing the spray park.
• Parade entries are needed, call the village hall to sign up. Parade line up will be on Jones street and end at the park.
• Santa will ask for donations to the local food pantry.
• Discussed the Christmas open house on November 17th from 5-7 p.m.
• Approved payment of any bills associated with the Christmas Open House.
• Approved payment from the Fall Festival account for any bills exceeding the amount in the Christmas account.
• Profit from the wreath decorating class will go towards the annual Stronghurst Christmas Open House.
