The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
The time to remove the old bricks from the Veteran’s Memorial in La Harpe was set at 10:00 a.m. on October 31st - "Halloween".
However, upon arrival at 9:15 a.m., eager volunteers had half the bricks pulled out!
More volunteers came along with the people wanting to get their bricks.
It was cold for a fall day. The temperature was about 30 degrees with gale force winds, and it was freezing!
With so much help, all the bricks were put on pallets for people to sort through to find one of their bricks.
Within two hours, the crowd came and went. Bricks not picked up will be kept for a couple of weeks at the city township building.
If you need to pick bricks up of your family's or business, etc., please contact a city worker.
