”Job Well Done"

Stephen Painter of Terre Haute recently retired from his position of secretary and trustee of the La Harpe Fire Protection District.

He was appointed to that position in 1992 and was honored by the district trustees with a plaque for his 30 years of service.

Stephen joined the district in 1972 as a fireman on the Terre Haute Fire Department.

In his earlier years on the department he was part of the SCBA Team who are responsible for putting on air packs and doing interior fire fighting and overhaul. He served as an inspiration and instructor for younger volunteers who became a part of that team.

Stephen continues to serve the Terre Haute Fire Department as a fireman.

He was also honored by the district with a plaque for 50 years of service as a fireman.

La Harpe Fire District Chief Jerry Brown (left) is presenting Stephen Painter a 30 year service plaque as La Harpe Fire District trustee and secretary and said it came with "much appreciation for a job well done." He also presented him with a 50 year plaque in recognition of his service as a fireman.
