Booster Club To Hold Bingo Night

At the Stronghurst Booster Club meeting on February 13th it was announced Bingo Night will be held on March 10th, at the American Legion. The Stronghurst Booster Club will supply and serve hotdogs, chips, drinks, and dessert. Food will be served at 5:30 with the game starting at 6 p.m.

A Community Potluck was held on January 27th, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the American Legion with about 40 people attending. There has been lots of positive feedback about this event, so will plan to host another potluck in the future.

Doc Pogue Run will be held on Saturday May 27th, 2023.

New Business:

Park: An estimate from Bigger Electric of $7500-$9000 was presented by Jim Blender to improve the electricity at the park. New panels and bringing electricity to the west end of the park would be completed.

Jim had a discussion of upgrading the electrical with the village mayor and Paige Torrance and Janice Smith from the village board were present. A discussion about this process took place.

Jim made the motion to approve the Booster Club pay half of the total cost of upgrading the electric at the park, Lori 2nd, all in favor and motion approved.

Farmers Market: The Farmers Market committee met and finalized the vendor application, rules and regulations, and new flier for the upcoming farmers market - dates are:

May 22, June 5,
June 19, July 10,
July 24, Aug. 7,
Aug. 21, Sept. 11.
All dates are Monday evenings from 5-7 p.m.

Committee plans to communicate with the village at the next village board meeting about approval for barricades to block off Broadway Street during the Farmers Market.

The committee has also completed an application for a Compeer Financial grant that could be used to help to advertise for the Farmers Market and increase attendance and vendor interest.

Non-profit status: Through investigation the booster club has approached the process for filing for this status but never actually completed. Discussion about pros and cons of going through this process were discussed.

IN OTHER BUSINSS

• Treasurer's Report: One check from the general account for $500 to the Legion, three checks from the Christmas account for $150 to Dan Brownlee, $8.35 to Fishers, and $60 to Jerry Spiker. two checks from the fall festival account for $727.09 for shelving/storage totes and $102.77 to Classic Accents for the car show materials. The report was approved by the group.
• Bills: There is a bill from Fishers for $7.60 for cleaning supplies purchased to clean the Legion prior to the community potluck.
