The Illini West High School board accepted the resignation of Principal Jim Short at a special meeting May 31. The district will accept applications for the position.
Short joined the Illini West administration in the fall of 2016 as Dean of Students. He was hired as principal for the fall of 2021.
At the meeting, the board also accepted the resignation of physical education teacher, Justin Ellison.
The board approved hiring Blaize Kimmell as physical education teacher and head boys basketball coach, Keela Nichols as social worker, and John Amschler as math teacher.
