The old Stronghurst Water Tower that has served Stronghurst so well over many years was dismantled Monday, July 17, 2023.
The fire siren was to come off and saved.
The new water tower pictured above was put in place five years ago with work starting August 2017 with a targeted completion date of July 2018. The picture above was taken Sept. 2018 after the Stronghurst lettering was put on the new structure that sets near the Bank of Stronghurst and behind the Veterans Memorial on Main Street.
The dismantling on Monday of the old tower brought many down town to watch and take photos as they watched giant cranes and many skilled and brave workers do their work.
