Ladies meet throughout the year to work diligently on making these beautiful Quilts to honor our American servicemen and women who have valiantly served to protect our great country. These ladies, like the men and women they honor for their services and sacrifices, have taken time away from home and family to help keep American’s freedoms safe.

The work and love, that is poured into each quilt is an honest heartfelt tribute to each veteran they honor to show the importance of each service person's service in this act of appreciation for their service to this great country of the United States of America that we all share and enjoy and so many times take for granted.

Quilts of Valor began in 2003 by a quilter named Catherine Roberts when her son was deployed in Iraq. Since that time over 300,000 quilts have been presented to those who have served in the military of the United States It has quickly grown to spread across the USA, with groups and individuals piecing and quilting comfort quilts for veterans to honor their service.

The members of the Hancock/Henderson Quilts of Valor presented these quilts on Sunday, February 5th, at 2:00 p.m. in Carthage to several veterans who live in the Hancock and Henderson Counties communities.
