Stronghurst Christmas Walk and Open House A Success; Tree Lighting Enjoyed; Parade Moved To This Weekend

Many came out to enjoy the Stronghurst Walk and Open House in November, and the Booster Club shared pictures with The Quill to give readers a glimpse into the fun. Many door prizes were awarded and handouts and refreshments offered. It was such a fun evening with rides on horse drawn wagons, music performed, and special discounts. Winning a year's subscription to The Quill were Jessica Horton, Lomax, Katie Arnold, Biggsville, Megan Adam, Carman, Cathy Cargill, Stronghurst, and Larry Moreland, Lomax.      

This past weekend, Dec. 1st, Stronghurst Senior Citizens Soup Supper was held at the Stronghurst American Legion with the donations for the supper to go to the Senior Citizens to continue supporting their programs they host throughout the year. and at 6:00 p.m., the Tree Lighting Ceremony took place since the rain caused organizers to postpone the parade until Friday, Dec. 8th at 6 p.m.

• Santa at park after parade • Booster club will hand out cookies and hot cocoa at the park

• Christmas Bingo is this Friday at the Stronghurst American Legion. Doors open 5:30, games will begin around 6 with a pause to view the Christmas Parade as it travels down Broadway street.

This is a free event for all ages! Popcorn and Hot Cocoa will be served.
