La Harpe Carnegie Library Sees Change of Director

by Dessa Rodeffer, Quill Publisher/Owner

La Harpe - Vivalda Roberts, Assistant Director at the La Harpe Carnegie Public Library District reports that Sandy Little who had been serving the local library as its Director for the past five years (May 2018-July 2023) has retired.

Sandy retired in July to take care of her first grandson starting this month of August. She also said she will have more time for reading books to her grandson and take him shopping whenever possible.

Serving as the new Director at the La Harpe Carnegie Public Library is Brenda Coulter who began working as Director on July 24.

Brenda, along with her Assistant Director Vivalda plan to create more activities and find more ways to engage children of all ages.

According to comments from others who enjoy the library, the community is richly blessed, to have this library at their fingertips in La Harpe, especially with today’s poor economy and with the closing of many businesses.

“We plan on having a “Meet and Greet” for Brenda sometime this month,” Vivalda said. “Please watch the Quilll and check Facebook for an announcement of when that will happen and other activities down the road.

The local library has many good things to offer young and old from kids to business leaders and Brenda and Vivalda look forward in showing you all that is available.
