Oquawka Stroll Brings Many Classics to Schuyler Street

The 2022 Schuyler Street Stroll along with the 27th Annual Oquawka Car Show took place last Saturday.

Second street to sixth the street was filled with vendors, blow up rides by Fields of Fun, live music by Sticks-N-Stones along with the ninety seven entries for the car show.

The top forty cars were awarded, with awards for best of show, engine, paint, interior and under twenty one. In addition the first fifty entries were given dash plaques and goodie bags.

It was a diverse field of vehicles with several Apaches, a few classic wagons, one custom Safari van, a big block Chevy Sprint, “Big Red” who was pulling “Lambo”, a custom mustang ready to take flight, numerous drag cars and several participants from last week in Stronghurst. There were certainly no week links in the impressive display of rides.

The doors of local businesses were open to welcome Schuyler Street Strollers and garage sales took place throughout the town. The fire station had their trucks out for viewing and the Alexis Phelps House was open for tours.

All in all it was a beautiful day for a stroll down Schuyler Street, although what day isn’t a great day for a stroll down Schuyler Street?
