Stronghurst Board Sets Trick or Treat

At the regular Village of Stronghurst board meeting on Monday, October 3rd Trick or Treat night was set for Monday, October 31st from 5:30-7:30 p.m. They have requested the community refrain from burning leaves the day of Trick or Treat and the day before.

Doug Erickson of Benton and Associates spoke to the board regarding the village’s facility plan. He is researching costs for digging a new well, as well as a location. Also looking into grant money for water main replacements, etc.

Ronnie Gittings Is checking into the replacement of a water valve near the highway that is leaking, as well as replacing a fire hydrant. He reported they would be flushing hydrants on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

Gittings said he had talked with the tree service and they were willing to cut trees for the day at a cost of $1400. They were approved to cut two trees and possibly a third if time allowed.

Police report: 50 hours worked; 20 training hours; 225 miles on squad car; 5 service calls; 1 village ordinance ticket; 1 warrant arrest; 14 business checks.
