10th La Harpe Country Christmas Open House and Parade Is Tuesday

LaHarpe will be holding its tenth annual Country Christmas on Tuesday December 6th on Main Street in LaHarpe. This annual celebration is a favorite of locals who enjoy coming out to see Santa and the lighted parade.

Many of the downtown businesses will hold open houses starting at 5:00 pm with door prizes and giveaways. Open houses will be hosted at Fortress Bank, LaHarpe Library, Quill, The Bar, Ramsey Financial, Memorial Medical, Banks & Beals, Huston Accounting, Hometown Insurance, Dittmer Law Office, Beautiful & Beloved, LaHarpe Historical Society, Dollar General, Casey's, The Annex, and U2.

The 21st Festival of Trees and Sweet Shoppe will be held at U2 (former Methodist Church) along with the annual 4-H soup supper.

Horse drawn carriage rides will be available for rides at the Carriage Depot on the east side of the La Harpe City Park. Children can have their pictures taken with Santa, or drop off a letter, at the American Legion.

Sheriff Travis Duffy and the Hancock County Sheriff's Department's Stuff the Squad Car will be in town accepting donations for their annual Toys for Tots. The finale is the lighted Christmas parade. It begins at 7pm and will go down Main Street. It is a fun family evening of celebrating the Christmas season.
