Hello Folks!

Boy, am I eating crow!

Remember how I wrote that I don't like turkey because it's an old dry bird that lacks juiciness and that I was going to bring my noodles to Aunt Polly's to save the day?

Well, first off, I worked hard making a large batch of homemade noodles and froze them as I usually do and when it came time to get out of the car at Aunt Polly's on Thanksgiving day, I found I had left them at home in the freezer!

Now what was I to do? All I had to add to the dinner was some sun tea I had set in the car to bring and nothing else!

I felt a little ashamed as I knew it would have been the main dish that everyone talked about and no one would notice the dry turkey.

Well, as the blessing was said and the turkey was passed, I took some and had to ask if it was an extra big chicken that someone had raised. It was so juicy, I couldn't believe it.

Aunt Polly said that "Trader Joe" had bought it from one of those organic farms and then, soaked it in brine and she had bought it fresh, put it on 300-325º and never uncovered it for six hours.

She said it was a Weber grilling it or something like that. She also had the sweetest fresh cranberry sauce to put on it and I am afraid to say, I was sure wrong about turkey, at least Aunt Polly's turkey.

By the time the dressing and thin hot gravy was put on top, and the sweet potatoes were passed with pecans and brown sugar, fresh green beans and green salad, no one asked about my noodles, only because the turkey was so juicy and flavorful, and I found myself asking for seconds.

Sparkling Cider was the drink and pumpkin and fruit pies ended the meal.

Aunt Polly had us all tell of a few things we were especially thankful for this year and with my cheeks all a pink from embarassment, I said this juicy turkey.

Well, I also said I was thankful to be invited to Aunt Polly's and that we no longer were treated like convicts when we went to the store if we didn't have a mask on and thankful that I never got COVID during this past epedemic. I am also thankful for all those who continue to work and for good neighbors and friends. Aunt Polly agreed.

It was a great Thanksgiving!

Good Day folks!
