Take “The Quill” Along

Newly elected Sheriff Matt Link of Henderson County, and newly elected Sheriff Travis Duffy of Hancock County took "The Quill" along to the Illinois Sheriff's Association "new sheriff training" conference in Springfield the week of November 15th. Both men have a long history of public service in their counties and was serving as Chief Deputy under the Sheriff they worked for.

Duffy served with Scott Bentzinger of Carthage, and Link served with Donald Seitz of Gladstone. Bentzinger and Seitz retired before their terms ended this past year and Link and Duffy ran for their positions winning the republican bids in their primary races and then won the General Election Nov. 8th. Duffy had been appointed Hancock County Sheriff upon Bentzinger's retirement.

Deputy Matt Link will be sworn into the Henderson County Sheriff's position this Thurs., Dec. 1st at 8:30 a.m. at the Henderson County Courthouse in Oquawka, and will be replacing Sheriff Steve Henshaw who was appointed as Sheriff until after the election. When you go on a trip take "The Quill" along and have your picture taken with it and send it to us. Let's see where all "The Quill" can travel.
