Henderson County Election Results

Henderson County, Illinois…Citizens cast their vote at the Nov. 8th General Election to choose who they wanted to represent them in elected goverment positions.

In the local race, the biggest question was "who will be sheriff" after Sheriff Donald Seitz (Democrat) resigned.

Voters selected Henderson County Deputy Matthew J. Link, Republican of rural Media, as their new sheriff with 1,732 votes and 58.89% of the vote.

Link won over newly appointed Sheriff Steven P. Henshaw, democrat of Oquawka who received 1,209 votes and 41.11% of the vote.

Link was endorsed by the past three sheriffs (Lumbeck, Haynes, and Seitz) who he had worked under serving as Chief Deputy under the last two sheriffs.
