Freeland Cemetery,

In June 1837, Rezin Redman, the man who is said to have built the first frame house in what would become Burlington, IA was laid to rest in a rural cemetery in what is now 408 Crane Hill Lomax, IL.

Nearly 185 years to the date after that, thanks to the effort of his great-great-great-grandson Dave Nation, Col. Redman, a War of 1812 veteran will have his grave marked with a 240 lbs granite stone provided by the VA and installed by volunteers from Iowa and Illinois.
