Schaley Released from Hospital After Collison

Brenden Schaley, Stronghurst, drove his two-day-old pickup into some parked school buses after he blacked out while driving into the West Central High School parking lot Wednesday evening, April 27th.

He and his wife Emily and their daughter were on their way to the West Central Elementary Spring Concert that evening which was to begin at 6:30 p.m..

Police and ambulance quickly arrived and Schaley was transported to the West Burlington, IA hospital where he was treated and released without an answer to the blackout.

Brenden is undergoing tests to find the cause, but meanwhile, the Illinois state trooper, Stronghurst Mayor, and West Central School Board President has been grounded from driving until all is clear with medical reports. Supt. Paula Markey quickly announced a new bus schedule that evening after two buses were put out of commission.
