La Harpe Lions Club Fed Good Crowd At Two-Day Breakfast at La Harpe's Remodeled Club House

The La Harpe Lions Club again had good support from the community and surrounding area at their two-day annual Pancake breakfast put on by the faithful members of the La Harpe Lions Club Saturday and Sunday April 12-13.

The food was delicious and was served in the remodeled La Harpe Clubhouse this year. The Lions enjoyed returning to and using this nice facility of which they had given $5,000 toward a commercial stove and toward the warming trays (pictured) which they use for their pancakes, biscuits, sausage gravy, eggs, and sausage. The Lions completely ran out on Saturday.

Money raised supports books for school children, post Prom, Camp Lions for the blind and deaf, insurance for the Little League yearly, and many other events and projects. The Lions most recently committed $5,000 toward a redo of the La Harpe City Park tennis/basketball court. The Lions have 34 members who pay a $50 membership fee and put on several fundraisers throughout the year such as grilling pork chops, & Larry Johnson recycling aluminum cans, etc. Lions President is Jerry Burford, Treasurer-Eric Palmer, Secretary-Jim King, and board members: Rod Myers, Boyd Mueller, Tracey Anders (Tail Twister), and Mike Lionberger.
